Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Marine Tally processes, why, and what rights you have. It applies to this website and to the Marine Tally service.

Controller: Marine Tally.

Two roles

For visitors of this website and for people who contact us, Marine Tally is the controller of their data. For the data our customers connect to the service (their email, customer requests, stock lists and invoices), the customer is the controller and Marine Tally processes it on their behalf under a data processing agreement.

What we process

• Contact details you send us: name, company, email address and the content of your message.
• Account data of service users: name, email address, password hash and sign-in times.
• Customer data processed by the agents: incoming requests, email messages in connected folders, stock positions, orders and invoices.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and security logs, kept to protect the service.

Why and on what legal basis

• To answer your enquiry and arrange a pilot: our legitimate interest, or steps before a contract.
• To provide the service to our customers: performance of the contract.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest.
• To meet accounting and legal obligations: legal obligation.

We do not sell personal data and do not use customer data to train AI models.

Where data is stored

The service runs on servers in Frankfurt, Germany, within the European Union. AI processing is done by providers we have contracts with. When a provider is outside the EU, transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. The current list of subprocessors is available on request.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months. Service data is kept while the customer’s contract is active and deleted within 90 days after it ends, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work, such as the session and security cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
